Abstract:
The paper that I chose was Paper 3, our final paper of the semester. I chose this paper because I felt like it was the best paper I have written this semester and showcases my abilities as a writer. This paper is about Reparations and what they mean for the black community as well as America as a whole and the reason why there has been so much hesitation when it comes to actually enacting them. I used works from Ta-Nehisi Coates, Carol Dweck and Jeffrey Scheuer. I have read the essay by Coates in my AP Language and Composition class in high school so I felt like this essay was the easiest for me to connect to, since I already had a base of knowledge on the information. And because of this I felt like I was able to write the best paper this semester, since I already had a base for my opinion on the topics. Having such a strong opinion on the topic really helps me develop this paper and create something that has real emotion and ideas behind it. While I am proud of my writing in all three of the papers we did this semester I think Paper Three really showcases how I felt on the topic and the ideas the authors were presenting to us.
