This photo is a picture of the sunset over the Casco Bay Bridge in Portland. I was out driving home, and the night sky looks so beautiful I had to take a picture at the next stop light. The beauty and simplicity of the night sky is my favorite. I love being able to see the colors change, and night come over the sky. Nighttime is my favorite time of day, and I love watching the colors of the sky change to bring in the best part of the day. I took this picture and loved this picture because it just showed the drastic difference of the sky during the day time and what comes over the sky to become night. I love the contrast of the bright orange being muted by the dark midnight blue that is talking over the sky.
This photo is of my coworkers at work on Friday. We were closing down the restaurant and I snapped a picture of them closing the Kitchen. My coworkers and my work place is my home away from home, these people are my family and they make the days that I work even brighter. Being able to have such a positive and loving relationship with the people I work with is so crucial to having a healthy work environment. I loved this picture and saw so much beauty in it, because it was two of my favorite people doing their job and just having a good time. It really showed me how lucky I am to work in a place, and be apart of an environment, that is so healthy and creates such lasting bonds.
This photo is of my dog. I went home on Sunday to celebrate my brothers birthday, and my dog was just too cute. I might have posed him with my microbiology text book, but it was too cute not to. This picture brings so much beauty to me because it is of something that I love so much, and has been such a big part of my life. I have had this dog in my life since I was in fifth grade, he has been there through everything. And him just cutely sitting on the couch, looking out at the birds outside was just so beautiful to me. It shows the peace in little things, and how much peace animals can find from the smallest things.
This photo is taken from my deck. I live right off of the beach, and the view of the trees and the sky from the deck really spoke to me. It showed the beauty of the quiet of the world, a snapshot of the things I see everyday and probably take for granted. the quiet and beauty of the world is all around us, and when we take the time to actually look at it, appreciate it, and understand the world we live in, everything gets a little bit brighter. I loved this photo because, while its so simple, it shows the beauty of the place I get to call home for 10 months, and shows all of the memories of the life I have lived in college.

This photo was taken while I was in Ecuador. I used it as an honorable mention, because it was not taken by me within the last week. But I love this photo. I think just seeing the vastness of the Galapagos, and how we were adventuring and exploring was so beautiful. The contrast of us waling through this path, to the beauty of the Pacific Ocean around us and the mountains that wildlife call home was beautiful.
