Peer Review has always been something that I have struggled with just because I never knew what to say to the other student/author and I didn’t want to be too nice or too critical of their writing. When it comes to my own writing I am very critical and believe that it is horrible, when that may not be that case. So when I am review and rereading someone else’s writing I tend to struggle on trying to have a balance on what will help them with their writing in the future while still being positive. I know many of us struggle with this but I think it’s safe to say I have had some growth and understanding just how to create the best feedback for my partner. In the screenshots below you can see my growth from the review of my peers first paper to her third paper and how I am better at giving her good advice for her paper instead of just saying that this part was good. Especially since I worked with the same student this entire semester I was able to pick up on her ways of writing and actually understand how she writes and what she wants to say. This reviewing skill is so important to have, to be able to look at your own writing and other authors writing in a critical way that will help create better writing and skills for the future.
