Hi! My name is Mackenzie Harvey, but I go by Mackie. I am a senior Medical Biology Major on the Pre Med Track with a Writing Minor. I am from Bangor, Maine. I am on track to graduate in the Spring of 2024, and will hopefully be pursuing the next step of my academic career in Medical School. The hope one day is to become a Pediatric Oncologist. UNE has a fantastic medical biology program and a really diverse curriculum that will set me apart from other applicants, so once I got accepted I knew this was the place for me.
While I attend UNE I work two jobs on campus, I am a Writing Fellow and a tutor at SASC, and have two jobs off campus, a manager at Moe’s BBQ and a member of Mercy Gastroenterology suite. Some of my favorite things to do are hang out with my friends, spend time outside and being with family. I am the oldest of 7 so family time is always required! While I grew up in Maine, it wasn’t the same as the type of lifestyle we live down here in Biddeford, so even though I am pretty close to home it still feels like I’m living in a different state.
I love the UNE community and I am so happy that this is the place I decided to spend my 4 undergraduate years at. I hope that this handbook gives new students some good advice and helps to make sure that they have as much fun here as I did. Being able to give advice and help students not make the same mistakes that I did would be very sweet. I hope that students can really find ways for them to have the best time and enjoy themselves here.
