My name is James DeCrisantis and I’m from Bloomfield, Connecticut. I’m a senior at the University of New England and plan on graduating in the Spring of 2024. I am majoring in Sport and Recreation Management and minoring in Business Administration with the aim of getting a position in sports marketing after college. During my time at UNE, I was a member of the men’s basketball team for three seasons. This experience was not only extremely fun, it also taught me the importance of time management and prioritizing school assignments with practices and games.
I hope the reader of this handbook could use this information as a tool to help guide incoming college freshmen through the difficult transition from high school to higher education. My fellow authors and I have provided information including basic facts about the UNE Biddeford campus, helpful resources, as well as our own personal experiences describing some of the most important or advantageous lessons we’ve discovered during our times in college. This handbook should allow for advice on how to make the college transition as smooth and easy as possible because it is hard for every new student. There are plenty of first hand experiences and testimonials in this manual from people ranging from sophomores to seniors and even faculty and staff members from the University of New England.
