Week 1 9/11- 9/17:
Over the last week, Nike has posted 9 times on Instagram, 11 times on Tik Tok and 3 times on X. It appears that Instagram and Tik Tok are the best places to observe Nike and their connection with their supporters. These posts over the last week were promotion for their new collections that they are releasing. There hasn’t really been any interaction between the company and their fans in the comments. But the tone of the posts themselves have been informative and professional, posting about new things that they are creating and helping show what will be released on their site soon.
Week 2 9/18-9/24:
Over the last week, Nike has posted 3 times on Instagram, 5 times on Tik Tok and 2 times on X. The posts that they made on all three platforms have been pretty similar. The most notable post on all three sites was their promotional video for Megan Rapinoe, talking about her last career game with the USWNT. She also created a jacket with the company, and they posted about how that jacket was created. Besides the promotion for Rapinoe, everything that has been posted so far is promoting athletes and promoting different types of clothing that they are selling right now. The tone and theme of these posts are very similar to last week, but there was less posted this week than last.
Week 3 9/25-10/01:
This week Nike made 4 posts on Instagram, 3 times on Tok Tok and 1 time on X. This was a pretty slow week for their social media. They made the same posts on each about the new projects and ambassadors that they have for their brand. This week, the posts were all similar in style but lacking in communication with fans and overall posting on social media.
Week 4: 10/02-10/08:
This week Nike made 6 posts on Instagram, 6 times on Tik Tok and 5 times on X. This was a much better week than last. More interaction on all of their social medias. These posts were about their Yardrunner’s program, something that has been going on for 4 years. This program is student leaders at historically black colleges and universities in order to create change and inspire the legacy of black people within America. There other posts were about professional soccer players, Megan Rapinoe and the FC Barcelona team. This week was less about the new inventory they have, and more about athletes in sports who represent Nike and who are making change within the world and also in the world of sports. Similarly to other weeks, they don’t interact as often with their fans within the comment section. But you can tell, just from the type of posts that they make, that they are doing good things to give a better future for many young athletes.
Week 5: 10/09- 10/15:
This week Nike made 7 posts on Instagram, 5 times on Tik Tok and hasn’t posted at all on X. Most of the Tik Tok posts were interview type videos with Tom Kim, a South Korean professional golfer. The Instagram posts were made about a few different sneakers that they are releasing. These posts are different from last week, less about doing changes in sports, and are more about new products to use during activity. Similarly, there was little interaction with anyone in the comment section, but they have kept up a steady and consistent type of posts on Instagram. Everything has been about products, or new connections they have made with different organizations. The posts on Tik Tok are more generated to be interactive. They are less promoting gear and are interviewing or keeping up with their brand ambassadors. These give their viewers the ability to look at these athletes in a different way.
Week 6: 10/16-10/22
This week Nike made 7 posts on Instagram, 6 times on Tik Tok, and 2 times on X. These posts were once again very similar, they were all promoting the same things. This week Nike was promoting a few new pairs of shoes that they have released as well as the Las Vegas Aces, women’s basketball team. They are back to back WNBA champions, and were being congratulated by Nike. Similarly to the past weeks, everything has been related to someone who is either sponsored by Nike or are posting about new things that they are releasing. Still there has been little activity in the comment section with their fans.
Week 7: 10/23-10/29
This week Nike made 6 posts on Instagram, 8 times on Tik Tok, and 2 times on X. These posts were very similar content on each of their accounts. A few of there posts were about new sneakers that they are releasing, in collaboration with an Australian choreographer. The rest of the posts were celebrating the South African Rugby team for winning the championship. As well as community empowerment to let sports games happen. These posts all are very similar in style to the rest of the posts that have been made. It really shows how much Nike cares about the community, whether it be a sports community or just our society as a whole. They have done a lot of things, within the few weeks that I have been following them, for the community and about the community. This really shows that they are trying to be there for everyone who supports them and shows how much they really want everyone who supports them to be supported. Again, there has been little interaction with their community via the comments but from what they post and what they do, it is evident that every move they make online is in response or for some cause.
Week 8: 10/30-11/5
This week Nike made 9 posts on Instagram, 9 times on Tik Tok, and 1 time on X. The contents were the same on each of their accounts, but there was a few videos on Tim Tok that were different from their other two platforms. On Tik Tok, they made 3 posts about Afro- dancing, and included multiple tutorials about that style of dance. These posts are a little different from ones they have made before. They never have really posted about anything other than your “normal” sports, and this was the first time that something about dance was posted more than once in a week. I think that this just shows the overall representation that Nike has, and creates the ability of showing every sport. Similarly to the weeks prior, there was not as much interaction between the accounts and their fans in the comments, but their continuous posting of things that are important to their viewers shows how much they care about those that support them.
Week 9: 11/6-11/12
This week Nike posted 5 times on Instagram, 4 times on Tik Tok and once on X. This week most of the posts on their social medias were to promote new items they are releasing. They are releasing new shoes in collaboration with Lebron James and are creating Nike Dance, a new lime to promote their new dance wear. Again, similarly to the weeks before, they are doing more self promotion, rather than interacting with athletes. While they have not interacted with anyone in the comments, they are still posting and creating new products that will be beneficial to their audience.
Week 10: 11/13-11/19
This week Nike posted 5 times on Instagram, 3 times on Tik Tok and once on X. These posts were similar to last week. They were promoting all of the new apparel they are creating. The first is a new running jacket to protect against the winter weather, more about the Lebron collaboration sneakers, new Mercurial cleats in collaboration with Ronaldo, new Dunks, and water resistant running sneakers. This has been the trend for the last few weeks. More promotion about their new items and apparel, and less about organizations they are working with to benefit others. Similarly to all of the previous weeks, Nike has not interacted with any fans or supporters in their comment section, any communication Nike makes is just the posts. Otherwise there is little to no interaction.
Final Words
